Case Coding Technology
DataLase has developed an innovative and sustainable way to apply shipping information onto corrugated boxes as an alternative solution to Print & Apply labelling, High-Resolution Inkjet, or Waxjet solutions. Using a SATO Case Coding Laser and one of a range of coatings developed by DataLase, their system aims to produce a high contrast, quality durable code that does not smudge or rub off. In addition to the operational advantages, it also helps eliminate waste and single-use plastics created from typical print and apply label backing waste and thermal transfer ribbon from the supply chain.
DataLase were looking for a specialist packaging manufacturer to partner with in order to produce their promotional material and product samples on a range of substrates allowing them to demonstrate their solutions to potential customers.
Belmont Packaging arranged to use the bespoke anilox DataLase to print a selection of coatings onto a variety of corrugated substrates to be used in marketing the DataLase Case Coding range.
The production involved several members of the DataLase team working on-site at Belmont Packaging testing the production run using their SATO Case Coding Laser to ensure the correct coverage and calibration was achieved.
