The beautiful countryside of Upper Swaledale in North Yorkshire was the source of inspiration for a brand new gin distillery The Spirit of Swaledale.
Launched by entrepreneurs Ian Purves and Smithy Holme in November 2019, this hand-crafted gin features wild juniper grown on their doorstep.
As a new enterprise, the packaging was a blank canvas but it was important that the drinks packaging would be sturdy enough to protect the glass gin bottles, reflect the nature-inspired brand and come within their modest budget.
Boxes for bundles
The subscription box needed to be functional with dividers to accommodate their bundle offers, two bottles of gin as well as a special branded beanie hat.
Cost-effective innovation
The team at Belmont put their heads together and came up with an innovative solution that would be possible without the divisions, therefore, reducing the overall cost.
To ensure the purple Spirit of Swaledale logo would stand out, the box was finished with a white BC flute material.
Capturing the spirit of Swaledale
Ian Purves, co-founder, was delighted with the end result and the initial print run of 550 subscription boxes was sent into production:
